Dea Domus

Sophie Frost is the founder and maker of Dea Domus. A multi-disciplinary artist specialising in; ceramics, art, and object, whilst working across the boundaries of fine art, design and craft. The artist presents ongoing collections of artisan studio pottery within Dea Domus as a central part of her practice.

She combines traditional wheel-thrown pottery techniques with contemporary mark-making to create her signature decorative vases. Influenced by feminine ancestry and its connection to the natural world, the ceramicist explores organic textures and pigments using glaze recipes passed down through generations of potters.

Selected ceramic pieces from her recent collections Shades of Blue Part II and Nu Blu explore abstract pattern and mark-making, referencing the artist’s own series of drawings and paintings.
