Fungai Marima

Fungai Marima is a Zimbabwean-born multidisciplinary artist and printmaker based in London. Her work is centred on using the human body as an archive, in which she explores her own lived experiences of identity, memory and trauma.

The artist combines traditional etching and silkscreen printmaking techniques with other elements including photography, performance and sculpture to create self-reflective works that examine physicality and process. 

Her recent series of etchings feature fragments of the artist’s personal narrative, taking reference from the forms and textures of her own body through organic movement and mark-making.
